Quick News Round Up (covering december until... now)

Hello everyone. Sorry for the lack of news. It was a mix of a lot of effort into OS SHP Builder with real life stuff and I eventually got tired in this whole process. Nonetheless, we had some interesting news which were not covered by this site:

- OpenRA Playtest 20131220 has been released:

Several playtests from OpenRA were released in this month. The main one (20131211) had the features in the quote below, while the latest one fixed some minor bugs.

Quote:
Added support for Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and Dune 2000 shroud rendering.
Improved the way cliffs, smudges and player color remaps in the d2k mod are rendered.

OpenRA is a game that recreates (and improves) old Command & Conquer games, as well as Dune 2000. Download it HERE and if you decide to modify it, discuss it in our forums.

- Command & Conquer Free To Play's server was officially shut down by EA:

The official announcement was made by Chris Mancil from EA:

Quote:
We wanted to let you know that we are suspending the Command & Conquer Alpha Test and the servers will no longer be available.

Thank you all for your continued support and dedication to Command and Conquer. Your feedback and participation in this community is a crucial part of the success and future of this amazing franchise. We look forward to seeing all of you in-game in a new Command and Conquer sometime in the future.

See you soon,
The Command & Conquer Team

- CNCNZ.com has been redesigned:

Our friends over CNCNZ.com have redesigned their site and they are using more friendly URLs for their features.

They've also recently restored their download system and they've posted a new episode of their Carton and Conquer.

- OS SHP Builder 3.37 Beta is downloadable at PPM:

Check the Editing Tools section in our left menu to download the latest beta version of OS SHP Builder. This main feature is saving SHP (TD) files in a stable way and this is the reason why we are already recommending it over 3.36. It also fixes issues with SHP (TS) radar colors and Final Sun and it includes several features and bug fixes (see list of features HERE).

The beta comes with an installer that may download files from our SVN in the first run. The uninstaller is still being coded.

For the other news, check the latest Community BattleCast Primetime Episode in the video below:

And finally, regarding ModDB's Mod of the Year event, I was not motivated to promote it here at all. We all know that the editors will only praise the FPS mods and Black Mesa because these games can use models with higher amount of polygons and, if lucky, perhaps Mental Omega may reach the user vote top 10 mods... but I have my doubts about that, although I think they do deserve it as well as Twisted Insurrection (which will not be at the top 10 at all).

Twisted Insurrection Public Beta 5 Trailer!

What would happen if the Brotherhood of Nod managed to make the Ion Cannon destroy the White House in the Tiberian Dawn campaign? Twisted Insurrection is one of the top Tiberian Sun modifications that we host here and it tries to bring an answer to this question with new units, graphics, campaign and an thrilling story.

They are close to release the Public Beta 5 release of their mod and, in order to catch votes for the ModDB's Mod of the Year election (which is now too late), they've create the trailer below:

Ares 0.5 has been released.

AlexB has just released Ares 0.5. For those who doesn't know what is it about, the answer is simple. It extends the modding features of Yuri's Revenge. And how does it extend it? With many... many possibilities. Too much to be listed in this news post.

Anyway, here's AlexB's announcement for this version:

Quote:
Ares 0.5 has just been released, with several features from Tiberian Sun restored and enhanced. The big feature groups are Tiberium, with Tiberium Heal, Damage and many other related logics restored, and Cloak, with lots of customizable options. Aside from that, a bunch of other long requested minor features have been implemented, like more AttachEffect options, side-specific engineers, and a way to treat all side-specific engineers or dogs as one type for Type Selection.

Ares 0.5 contains an updated version of Syringe, which has been compiled with the VC++ 2013 compiler. This means the runtime files you need to install have changed (for the first time in about four years, because we skipped one compiler update). You can find the link to the runtimes in the readme file. If you encounter problems, please post.

Happy modding as always, and also Season's Greetings and a Happy New Year where it applies!

Changelog:

- Consider many types as one for Type Selection
- Tiberium Heal added
- Tiberium Damage added
- Tiberium Explosions (Chain Reactions)
- Tiberium Explosive (Harvesters blowing up)
- Storage restored
- Tiberium PipScale for buildings
- Sensor Arrays restored
- Hover units cloakable
- Cloakable if deployed, idle (CloakStop), powered
- Units never cloakable, not even under Cloak Generators
- Visceroids
- Hide Insignia from enemy players
- Spread tiberium on destruction
- Side-specific Engineer and Technican
- Ripple effect won't rock hover units any more
- C4 veteran ability restored
- Animations with Custom Palettes no longer visible through shroud
- Several minor changes and improvements

So, that's it:

OpenRA Holiday Release (20131223)

Happy holidays from the OpenRA team!

Quote:
Our hard working developer-elves have wrapped up a new release as an early christmas present to our fans. We have focused on two main areas in this version: improving the stability and polish of our existing mods, and laying the foundations for several big new features that will appear in future releases.

In the last three months we have merged 769 commits by 14 authors into our Github project.
We do all of our development in the open, so anybody can get involved!

You can find us on our IRC channel (webchat) or using your favorite social media platform:

Some important improvements over our last September release are:

  • We now support Lua scripting in maps for creating missions and custom minigames.
  • Our Red Alert mod now includes the M.A.D tank, production acceleration (multiple factories improve the production rate), and the heavily requested base-size limit from our TD mod.
  • Our Tiberian Dawn mod (renamed from C&C) has overhauled support powers and weapon effects.
  • Our Dune 2000 mod now uses the original artwork for shroud and spice.
  • Menu UI improvements include password-protected servers and a new unified settings menu.
  • A lot more bug, polish, and performance fixes. Thanks to everyone who reported problems!

The christmas stocking full changelog is stuffed with goodies, so be sure to check it out if you’re interested in seeing all the changes, or have a mod or map that you’d like to upgrade.

The first two allied missions have been recreated using Lua in our RA mod.

The A10 aircraft in our TD mod now strafe their target with their vulcan cannon before releasing fire-bombs.

Our D2K mod is looking better than ever, now using the proper shroud and spice artwork.

Our modding tools have received several improvements.
Shown here is a sneak-peek from our work in progress Tiberian Sun mod.

Happy holidays!

Howdy everyone! It's that time of the year to wish everyone happy holidays for whatever kind of celebration that you have (or not). And, of course, we had a provide a present... or a bonus. But this time, the bonus isn't on PPM itself. It's in a friendly site that we've been hosting here for almost an year called:

Tiberium Web: http://www.tiberiumweb.org

It's browsable and the forums are working fine. Unfortunately, we couldn't remove all signs of the old URL in the images, which is something that I lack skill to deal with. So, have a fun time and enjoy it!

New downloads available and Renegade supported at PPM!

Hello brotherhood! We've recently extended our left menu (as well as our graveyardmobile site) with an additional game and several downloads.

The game is Renegade, which is supported with the Other Games Modding forum, as well as Public W3D, 3D Models and Public Camos and Textures forums.

The downloads.... there are many. Let's start with the games first. We have a link to CnC Communications Center for downloading the full Tiberian Sun game for a while. Right below it, we are now hosting the movies of the game in a huge separate installer.

Also, many games now have a section called Starting Tools, which should have some basic tools for that game that every modder must have. So, we've added to that section Final Sun, Final Alert, mod SDKs for many C&C games and Worldbuilders. Note however, that the version of WrathEd (the community's mod SDK for Kane's Wrath and Tiberian Twilight) is not the latest one (1.07 Gamma). The gamma one has disappeared from the internet and, in my backups, I only have the 1.06 or older versions. So, we are hosting the 1.06 one until somebody uploads the latest version somewhere. I don't know why Bibber or whoever is responsible for these files like removing the latest version before a new one is released. Considering that this is the only tool that can be used to mod KW and TT, it really must be available somewhere.

And finally, we've reorganized the order or some sections and subsections in the site to make it more coherent.

This is the first time I actually release the trailer before I release the new version of the mod itself, even if it's only by a day Razz

So here's the trailer and DTA 1.12 itself will be released in the afternoon (of December 30th).

Hello everyone. In the last news post, Bittah Commander has showcased the trailer of The Dawn of the Tiberium Age 1.12. And yea, a couple of hours later, it became downloadable as he announced.

This version changes the whole purpose of the mod, which used to be recreate the Tiberian Dawn universe in Tiberian Sun and now it also adds Red Alert 1. AI has also been vastly changed and new game modes were added.

Head to The Dawn of the Tiberium Age ModDB Profile to download it and have fun. Discuss it in the forums.

Happy 2014!

Hello everyone and happy new year! As usual, we wish the best for everyone, not only in this date.. but every single day. I hope you guys have enjoyed the new year's gift. A hell of a gift, to be quite humble.

Anyway, 2013 was an excellent year for PPM in many ways:

-> We've been more active than in the previous years, specially by the end of the year.

-> We've covered the latest Command & Conquer Free To Play on Gamescom, with all travel expensespaid by EA, and... well... unfortunately, the game was cancelled later, but it wasn't our fault at all.

-> The technology behind PPM has advanced considerably. We have a much better News Tracker, tracking the latest news in our projects and forums at the top of our site. Our menus now have subsections, which allowed us to cover multiples games (non C&C ones) in our sites. We are also able to host huge download files without having our bandwidth obliterated by bots, allowing us to save important files for modders from extinction and distribute freeware games. The forums are also more stable (the recent error 503s are not related to PPM), better, with more features for the users and for the admin as well. There was only one downgrade in our technology where we were forced to drop support for comparison of files from different revisions in our SVN.

-> We have expanded the coverage of the site into other games such as OpenRA, Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert 1, Renegade, Starcraft 1, Starcraft 2, Warcraft 3 and Fallout 3.

-> We had some major mod releases such as The Dawn of the Tiberium Age 1.12, D-Day 3.7b patch, Red Dawn 2013, Crossfire 0.8, Tiberian Sun Squared Open Beta.

-> A couple of mods have joined PPM such as World Domination, C&C: Mashup.

-> Ares has expanded the options of Yuri's Revenge mods tremendously and some of them can be attractive to Tiberian Sun modders as well, with many features related to Tiberium being supported in the latest 0.5 version. The future for it is unclear, but I'd say that the Bounty logic seems to be a strong candidate for the next version.

-> Our modding tools have advanced. OS SHP Builder can be safely used to mod Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert 1. Several tools to render Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, Red Alert 1 and Tiberian Dawn were strongly updated. TMP Shop became an important tool to expand the terrain types from TS and RA2. While Voxel Section Editor III's progress was limited by few optimizations and new slow method to extract the texture atlas, its technique to convert voxel models into 3D models has been published as a full paper in a high level international conference in Arequipa, Peru.

And there were several contests, file submissions, tutorials and much more.

Anyway, while the recapitulation of the year in the paragraphs above looks interesting, let's look back to our plans for 2013 and see what was really done:

-> Expand the site to cover non-C&C games: That objective has really advanced a lot in this year, although the approach was different. My original idea was the use of subportals. Maybe they will happen, but for now, we have just reorganized our menus.

-> Progress with VXLSE III's 3D model export feature: Unfortunately, we didn't have any practical advances with that in 2013. Most things lies in theories at the moment and the texture atlas extraction did not obtain the expected results yet. It should change in 2014.

-> News coverage on Tiberian Twilight, Generals 2 and Tiberium Alliances: Tiberian Twilight did not receive any news at all, although we now mirror a Mod SDK for it in our left menu. Tiberian Alliances was totally ignored and that will hardly change for 2014. Generals 2 is past, unfortunatelly, but we did a good coverage of it. If a new Command & Conquer game gets announced in 2014 or Generals 2 returns, we will be covering it here.

-> Motivate modders to play C&C games older than Tiberian Twilight: Once again, mission accomplished. Any doubts?

And, so, what about 2014?

-> Expand the site to become more popular with games beyond Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 scope: We are slowly adding content for other games here, but we are not getting many modders interested to discuss them in our community yet. We'll try to change this situation by adding more content and trying to approach communities from other games.

-> Progress with VXLSE III's 3D model export feature: This is our ultimate goal to become a significant community that modifies or develops 3D games. We have many voxel assets that would be very useful in newer games if we are able to convert them.

-> Attract more high quality mods: We need fresh blood and attractive content in this place. PPM is still an attractive place to have forums to advertise your projects and it still holds a community with skilled modders and artists to improve the quality of your project in the long term.

-> Improve methods to organize our content: The News Tracker is a nice way to organize the news that happens in this place, but there are other ways to organize the content that we may explore in 2014, such as using hashtags.

-> Improve news coverage from other games and communites: Nowadays, we are covering news related to RTS Command & Conquer games and OpenRA, while we want this place to become a modding reference for every game. Although we have channels where everyone may post a news, such as our Community News Forum, we shouldn't have to rely only on our community. We need to be more pro-active. Our plan to do that is to improve our techniques to import RSS feeds to our forums without simply posting a clone of the news from other sites. I don't know if we'll get that ready in 2014.

-> A new PPM Network Bar: We may eventually drop Revora's network bar and build our own, focusing on what do we have to offer here.

And that's it. I hope you enjoy PPM in this year and help it to become a better place. Stay tuned here and you'll certainly have a lot of fun.

OS SHP Builder 3.37 has been released!

$

0
Almost six years after the last official release, we are proud to announce that Open Source SHP Builder 3.37 is now available for download. There wasn't much work on it during this huge interval of 6 years. We've been hearing bug reports from the community and fixing them. Also, a couple of random features were added, such as Mirror, Flip, a new Resize method and an auto-installer/update/uninstaller to make the distribution of the beta versions easier.

The official release of OS SHP Builder 3.37 started to see the light of the day once Zaaz has fixed the way the program saved SHP (TD) files. That problem was haunting OS SHP Builder since 3.35 and, with that fix, OS SHP Builder has became a reliable tool to edit graphics from Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert 1, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2 and also OpenRA. He has contributed with that and a couple of other fixes as well.

It's important to mention that the installer has changed in this version and it may require internet connection in the first run (although there are means to avoid it). The installer was not tested with Windows 8, but it fails, don't worry: it can be installed without installer. Information on how to do that is available at the OS SHP Builder section. Here's the changelog:

- 3.37
 - revisions by Banshee, contributions from Zaaz
   - Added: Mirror and Flip: You can mirror and flip frames at Tools -> Image Rotation.
   - Added: You may now enable or disable the preview of brush operations at View -> Preview Brush. It is enabled by default.
   - Added: You may now enable or disable the ability of the program of auto-detecting SHP type, game and palette at Options -> AutoSelect SHP Type. It is enabled by default.
   - Added: MS Paint resize mode at Edit -> Resize. It resizes the image using windows API, like what MS Paint does.
   - Added: A new option at Preferences that lets you save shadow frames using compression 1 to prevent issues with big sized units and animations.
   - Added: Installer is now inside the program. This means that any beta version of OS SHP Builder will come with an installer that will always download you the latest version of the program. You must be connected to the internet to use it.
   - Added: Auto Update at the Help menu. It will always download you the latest version of the program straight from the SVN. You must be connected to the internet to use it.
   - Added: Uninstaller is also inside the program and in a separate link.
   - Updated: Community links were updated.
   - Updated: The default settings now forces different palettes for each situation instead of unittem.pal for everyone.
   - Updated: The program will use your theme now.
   - Bug Fix: Fixes issues when saving SHP (TD) files. They are now 100% reliable and read by XCC Mixer and other programs. (Thanks Zaaz)
   - Bug Fix: Fixes issues when saving the radar color from SHP (TS) files. FinalSun will now display SHP (TS) overlays saved with OS SHP Builder. (Thanks ApolloTD and Zaaz)
   - Bug Fix: Images with dimensions bigger than 500 pixel may now be resized.
   - Bug Fix: Zoom will no longer go out of bounds. It will always be between 1 and 32.
   - Bug Fix: Palette Conversion no longer mess up with colours at the remappable range if it is not an unit.

I recommend everyone to update your OS SHP Builder for this version. You can download it HERE. Support for this tool is available at HERE.

OS SHP Builder has a SVN Browser HERE. You can also download the latest contents of the SVN, by using a an SVN client, such as Tortoise SVN, right clicking a directory, clicking in Checkout and setting URL to svn://svn.ppmsite.com/shp_builder

If you have a site, feel free to mirror it without asking for permision. You can also play with its source code and add your own features on the program. Just credit myself and Stucuk for the program. Enjoy it!

Command & Conquer Community News Early 2014

Greetings, Commander! Today is the day to keep you up to date with the news that happened at other C&C related sites in 2014. So, let's get straight to the point:

-> The mod CnC Stargate Universe has a new release: the version 2.0. This total conversion for Zero Hour that recreates the Stargate universe on it. It features Tau'ri, Goa'uld and Asgard as factions. The version 2.0 also brings the Replicators. You can download the mod at their Official Site. This release also has a trailer in the movie below:

-> CNCNZ.com has a new episode of Cartoon and Conquerhere.

-> When I release a new version of Open Source SHP Builder, I always update a file with links for several community sites that covers the games covered by file types that can be edited by the program. This time, I've barely added a link. Unfortunately, I had to remove several links for traditional sites that died in 2013 or early 2014. For my great disappointment, one of these sites was CNCDEN, whose domain has expired and wasn't renewed at all. Other sites such as Imperium Westwood, CnC Combat Zone, the swedish Gaming Eye, Extreme Gaming and some others were also counted as dead in this process. RADEN is still alive, but considering what happened to CNCDEN, I won't be surprised if it also expires soon. It might be better to backup it at some point.

It saddens me to see the community being reduced to rubble, but PPM still has other motivations beyond Command & Conquer to keep modding and living the game.

Attacque Supérior - January 2014 status

$

0

2013 was a milestone for Attacque Supérior. During a long process of reintegrating every design, redeveloping every unit, scrapping and scavenging ideas, throwing purposes back and forth, AS now finally reached the state of a playable alpha, and getting better and better with every day passing by. Since late November, internal alphatesting have started, to tweak and fix the balance issues the sides have, as well as polishing every unit into their final role. Thanks for all people who have supported me through these years.

It's also a pleasure of mine to report that from next week onwards Attacque Supérior also joins to fellow mods Mental Omega APYR and Red Resurrection as broadcasted by your old friend, Hecthor Doomhammer, with the first teststream on January 17th, 2014, 19:00 GMT. Follow his Twitch channel and be prepared when the time comes.

Ofcourse, the work is not over. As one would say, this is only the beginning. Sadly the two new factions still have major artistic flaws and the website is well... yeah, as dull as a site could be, but it'll get resolved later, hopefully this year. Right now I'm aiming for a Q4 2014 release, but we'll see how time overrides this plan of mine.

In the meanwhile, I'll try to make sure everyone'll find Attacque Supérior interesting and keeping everyone updated about further development. If you, by any chance, would help Attacque Supérior's development, besides beta testing, voice acting and a helping hand at infantry/superweapon cameos would be grateful. I had an aim of creating a showcase video of the currently featured uniquely recorded voicesets in the mod, but I failed with my own schedule, sorry for this inconvience.

Happy New Year everyone, I wish all of you supérior luck for this year. Graion out.

January 2014 mod roundup!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the silence in the news. I've spent most of my time in this month working on VXLSE III and also fixing bugs from OS SHP Builder and recoding the Project Perfect Mod Website. The next VXLSE III build might take a while, since I'm stuck with some stuff related to the controller from its MVC model that was originally mentioned in this post. OS SHP Builder 3.38 Beta 6 has been released 10 days ago. These betas were fixing bugs that people were reporting in this forum. The news about PPM being recoded will be posted later, although that task has been finished or at least the new site is online already.

Anyway, there are some interesting news about several mods we host and some that we don't... that needs to be shared here. So, let's get straight to the point from now on, shall we?

Tiberian Sun Mods:

-> Twisted Insurrection's upcoming Public Beta 5 will be featured for one hour at the next broadcast from Hector Doomhammer that should happen in february 2nd, 2014 around 15:00 GMT.

Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge:

-> YR: Attacque Supérior internal alpha, Mental Omega 3.0 and Red-Resurrection 2.0 will also be featured in the same broadcast from Hector Doomhammer. Check the announcement at Red-Resurrection's website for details on which time which mod will be played.

-> Talking about Mental Omega, there is a preview of the Heaven & Hell mission Beta Revision 2 for MO3.0. The mission has been totally reworked with Tanya instead of SEALs. Check the video for more information.

-> Colony Wars has received screenshots from several units and buildings. The latest ones were the Strategy Center, Cyborg Trooper, Recon Gun, Scarab APC, among others. The picture below shows the Scarab APC that belongs to the Syndicate faction (Yuri):

-> Tiberian Sun: Rewire has a promotional picture that shows many of the buildings that were created for the mod. Click in the picture for more information:

OpenRA:

-> Tiberian Dawn Xtended has recently switched engines to OpenRA, as seen in the picture below:

Renegade:

-> Tiberium Crystal War is a standalone total conversion that bring the C&C3 universe to Renegade. They've released a video that shows Pitbull, Juggernaught, Avatar and few other units in action:

Generals:

-> Rise of the Reds's ModDB profile has received an update called Ride of the Valkyries, featuring the European Venom Combat Armor, Exo Skeleton and much more.

And that's it for now.

Project Perfect Mod Website has been recoded.

Ladies and gentlemen: 2014 has just started for PPM. And the first action that makes it differ from 2013 was done yesterday, a couple of hours ago.

The main website (not the graveyardmobile one) has been fully recoded, almost from scratch. The look of the site has been minimally changed, but if you ever get the courage of viewing the source code, the difference is absurd there. For the first time ever, I'm proud of PPM's code. I know it is still not perfect, but it is much easier to read, smaller and most of it is properly idented (except for the content generated from the forums, like this news).

The advantages of this change is that PPM should load faster, requires less data to load and it should be simpler to maintain. Likewise the old code, it requires a resolution of 1024x768 or better.

We've tested the site using the latest Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera for desktop. We've als tested it using Internet Explorer 11 and 8. Although the site uses CSS3, it loads correctly on IE8 due to something genuinely awesome called PIE: Progressive Internet Explorer. This thing has saved my life. I've also tested the site with some browsers for Android, such as Google Chrome, Dolphin Browser and Firefox.

The main problem from the site so far is the News Tracker, which may hide some of its information on some browsers under low resolution. It should also not render that fast in Internet Explorer, specially the ones older than 9 that uses PIE. All Android browsers, except for Google Chrome, uses a very low resolution to load the site, which might make some images overlap other elements of the site.

The site might receive some tweaks in the next days in order to sort the News Tracker and the javascript related to show and close elements (it needs two clicks to close them for the first time), but the way it looks like now seems to be very functional and stable. On Opera, it looks better than the previous version.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy and please, report any problems here, so I can try to fix it. I hope it works with Internet Explorer 7 and the one from the Windows Phone, although I don't care if it doesn't work with anything older than IE7. Does anyone uses that yet? If the answer is positive, thereareseveralsolutions to your problem, even if you have restricted access in your machine.

There's always something happening behind the curtains of Attacque Supérior, with more and more revealed to the public.

For instance, unit profiles started to appear on ModDB and on a newly-created Facebook profile as well, like the following Spitswipe, the first fully shown Pacted unit:

There's also a voice preview on ModDB with some quotes. http://www.moddb.com/mods/attacque-suprior/videos/various-voicesets

And last but not least, there's also a stream incoming by your old friend, Hecthor Doomhammer, who also started to make huge changes in his streaming setup, I think. But that's something he should announce. :p This stream will happen on February 28th, 2014, 19:00 GMT, at the usual place of http://www.twitch.tv/pauljongejans.

Sadly the start of the university semester will gonna slow me down from now on, but I still plan to push updates everywhere (which I will put to CnCGuild as well, after I recreate the site design). On the other hand, there is a high chance that AS will gonna get another major change now, keep tuned on what will it be. Graion out.

Renegade X: Open Beta released!

A couple of days ago, Renegade X: Open Beta has been released to the public!

Renegade X is a remake of the old Renegade's C&C Mode, with some unique features. It is a FPS / TPS shooter combined with some elements from RTS. You can choose between GDI and Nod, and play as one of the many infantry you ordered around in Tiberian Dawn. Your job is to defend your base, and try to take out the enemy's base. While you can choose between multiple classes from the lowly Minigunner and Engineer to the feared Commando and Stealth Soldier, you can also rely on many familiar vehicles as the Humvee, Flame Tank, and the massive Mammoth Tank. And if that doesn't work, you can call in A-10 / Spectre Gunship strikes, or even the rightfully feared Ion Cannon and Nuclear Missile strike to devastate the enemy's base.

While the previous version required Unreal Tournament 3, this version only requires the mod / game itself, with no additional requirements (besides an up-to-date PC).

Colony Wars - February 2014 Updates

Somewhat busy, been trying to learn 3D through blender now. No work done of my own yet... but we'll see if I can tough it out.

    First comes the Allied Stuff...

The Allied Gun Turret has received a new... or old look once again.

Allied Kennels are a new structure which much like in RA1 trained Dogs. This case this one trains the Allied Attack Dog. (Which are amphibious)

    Next comes the Soviet Stuff...

The Soviet Dog Pound functions much like the Allied Kennel providing the Soviets the means of training their Canine Soldiers. This Building also allows the Elite Corp Sub-Faction to train Chitzkoi.

The graphic update on the soviet counterpart. War Dogs may not have the capacity to swim but they are armed with a specially made Flak Vest granting them more endurance in the battlefield. Aside from that they are armed with Amplifiers that allow them to project a powerful bark that can stun and deafen enemy infantry (and rarely pop their ears killing them).

Last comes the newly renamed Yuri Faction, The Syndicate.

Reaver Bikes are light assault vehicles armed with Mortar Tubes & Machine Guns. Cheap and easy to amass expect these road warriors to fight on.

And introducing the Buzzsaw. The Buzzsaw replaces the Reaver Bikes for the Chaos Cell. Heavily Armored and amphibious the Buzzsaw isn't no slouch in combat. Like all Grinder Units they can lock enemy units in place as they rip them apart. True to their common motif. Grinders have special canisters inside that detonates delivering toxic gases similar to those of the Virus.

    That's all for February.

    EXCELSIOR!
